Just be

“Just be. To just be.”

She runs away, hair and dress
streaming, flying behind her.

A daisy filled field ends in
sky with clouds and forever
blue beyond. Where freedom lies

like it always does.
Red hair flashes in golden
sunlight and exposes bare

white feet, arms, and hands glowing
with heat. Sun and horizon
are before her as she runs.

A tea-stained color covers
the pages of the open
book. A thought or hope to be—

“Just be,” she whispers.
Freedom is ahead and hope
no matter what the past was.

Both her red hair and white dress
dance and flow as the wind wills,
only restrained from flying

away in the sky.
The yellowing sky with clouds
and the green grass that is brown

are dreams in a book’s pages.
